Soapmakers since 1828
Our story begins in 1828 when Pierre Rampal became a Master Soapmaker at the Court-de-Payen soap factory in Marseille.
His heirs later settled in Salon–de-Provence. Among them was his grandson Pierre Rampal, master soapmaker at the Gounelle factory then producer of soap and olive oil “la Cote d’Azur” and recipient of gold medal at the Universal Exposition in Versailles. It was the Belle Epoque!
This world recognition launched them as the leading family-run company.
In 1907 Pierre opened the doors of the factory “Rampal –Fils” at 71 rue Felix Pyat.
100 years later Rene Rampal, grandson of Pierre, transferred his soap factory “Rampal Patou” to Jean Louis Plot’s family.
A new sign was born:
“Rampal Latour” gardien of an authentic savoir-faire.
