Know-How And Innovation

THE GENUINE MARSEILLE SOAP

Steeped in history and virtues, Marseille soap, a toilet companion for generations, champion of household chores, virtuoso of washhouses, has built a reputation around the world. The other side of the coin to the success it has always known, it is today the target of multiple counterfeits from abroad which usurp its name. Learning to recognize the real Marseille soap, distinguishing the authentic from the pale copy, interfering in its manufacturing secrets, such is the quest of our century-old soap factory which demystifies the universe of this legendary soap.

THE SOAP SINCE 1935

After the success of their Marseille soap at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, the Rampals affirmed their talent as innovators and created, in 1935, the very first toilet soap, which they baptized “La Bain”. Eighty years later, the Rampal Latour soap bar is more fulfilling than ever: natural, refined, fragrant, extra soft, delicate, beneficial and even certified organic… it travels around the world, while remaining faithful to its native Provence.

GLITTER SINCE 1945

When in 1945 the heirs of Pierre Rampal decided to transform his raw soap into extra fine petals, a new cult product was born. Traditional and modern at the same time, this new form of detergent enters Provençal homes, then crosses countries and generations, despite the tough competition from chemical powders. Of course, it is the quality test that will decide the fate of the sequins.

THE SHAMPOO-SHOWER ''GENEVIÈVE PATOU'' SINCE 1951

The entry of shampoos into the world of the Rampal PATOU soap factory at this time coincides with the arrival of a woman at the head of the company. It was Germaine, daughter of the master soap maker Jacques Rampal, who ran the business during the 2nd World War. Her brother René joined her in 1941 and together they faced a world undergoing profound change. Pioneers in innovation, this is how in 1951 they created, manufactured and launched a unique product, a three-in-one liquid shampoo: for the hair, for the body and for the bubble bath: the famous "Geneviève PATOU" shampoo. » never equaled.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC SOAP SINCE 2008

The art of making pure vegetable soaps began in 1935, in our soap factory. Their immediate success confirmed our taste for innovation, an authentic mark of the Rampal Latour soap makers. Years later, allowing our traditionally natural soaps to become "organic certified", we have breathed new life into our craft. In 2008, we launched our range of organic shampoos, shower gels and soaps, certified by ECOCERT and labeled COSMEBIO. And in 2010, this same range was voted “Best organic range of the year” at the New York international fair, “New York Gift Show”.
